After a busy week, the Jacksonville Jaguars are seemingly showing no signs of slowing down with locking up key pieces of the team.

Within the last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars have extended the contracts for each of EVP Tom Coughlin, GM Dave Caldwell, head coach Doug Marrone, and quarterback Blake Bortles after a deep run in the playoffs in 2017. Now the Jaguars are reportedly turning their attention to inking the team’s star receiver, Allen Robinson

Given the recent surge of moves from Jacksonville, and the creating of cap space by Bortles’ new deal and the releasing of players like Chris Ivory, it certainly would not be a surprise for news to break in the coming days that the team and Allen Robinson have agreed to a deal to keep the number one receiver on the roster.

Robinson would be one of the hottest commodities in free agency, not just at wideout but overall, and the Jaguars should do whatever they can to bring the young star back.

The potential has been discussed that Jacksonville could place the franchise tag on Robinson, and let him play out the 2018 season, but a new deal this offseason would be a major win for both parties.

Robinson missed all but three plays last season, but hauled in 20 touchdowns collectively in 2015 and 2016. He is the team’s deep threat, and that presence was missed dearly last season. Robinson would immediately jump back into the number one role in the wideout corp, and give the Jaguars a returning weapon that was missing from a team that was just ten minutes short of the Super Bowl.
