Allen Hurns, Chris Ivory are possible cut candidates for the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t flush with cap space anymore, which means they have some decisions to make on players like Allen Hurns and Chris Ivory.
Heading into this offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars will have a different strategy compared to years past. They don’t have an enviable amount of cap space, but they also don’t have a ton of needs.
Instead, the Jaguars need to start making hard decisions about they players they currently have under contract and what to do with certain guys who may not be playing up to their contract value.
Gregg Rosenthal over at NFL.com put together a list of possible cut candidates and he highlighted two guys who’ve been discussed in that realm quite a bit.
"9-10) Chris Ivory, RB, and Allen Hurns, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars: GM David Caldwell made all the right moves in 2017. The same wasn’t true in 2016, when he gave Ivory a big free-agent contract and re-signed Hurns on a too-early extension for a former undrafted free agent. Cutting both players would save nearly $11 million in cap space, which is far too much to spend on two players who struggled to find playing time last season."
Chris Ivory seems like a lock at this point to not be back, at least at his current cap number. Ivory was a healthy scratch down the stretch in the regular season and in the playoffs and his skill set is redundant to what the Jaguars are getting with Leonard Fournette. The Jaguars are probably looking to roll with T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant behind Fournette, with a rookie somewhere in the back end of the rotation. There’s a chance Ivory could come back if he agrees to a pay cut, but that seems unlikely.
Allen Hurns is a much more difficult case to pin down. He’s a proven thousand yard receiver but he’s had two down years in a row. With a couple young guys in Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook seemingly ready to step into bigger roles, would it be wise to cut bait with Hurns?
If the Jaguars need the cap space to pursue a big fish (like a Kirk Cousins), then they should certainly shed Hurns. Otherwise, I think he presents more value as a reliable pass catcher considering his rapport with Bortles.
