After a exciting draft, the Jags are ready to start training camp. So now that us fans are entering a time of boring nothingness in football, random rumors that make no sense will swirl around you every turn. One of those rumors going around is that the Titans or Colts will when the division, HA………HA……. Just no. Here are my top 3 reasons why the Jags will win the AFC South in 2016.

Jack Conklin (Michigan State), Roger Goodell

The TITANS!!!! Really! Even with 14 draft picks and a few key free agency pick ups, the Titans aren’t ready for any kinda playoff run any time soon. Relying on 1st year and 2nd year player isn’t the recipe for intimidate success. Us Jags fan know this very well. The Titans are in the middle of a rebuilding process just like the Jaguars where in 2011-2015. They’ve drafted smart and are ready to be competitive in this division now, but I don’t know if Marcus Mariota  is ready to make that 2nd year leap. Although Bortles did the sophomore leap and he had a horrific rookie year. Demarco Murray and Derrick Henry present a problem in the run game and Delanie Walker is still a beast. The Titans are at least a 6 win team this year.

Texans… Texans…Texans. The 2015 AFC South champions…the team the lost 30-0 to in the Wildcard round. The Houston offense is bound to explode next year. Deandre Hopkins, Rookie’s Will Fuller and Braxton Miller will test any secondary they face. Lamar Miller will handle running duties and will probably present the biggest halfback problem the Jags face in the AFC South. Their offensive line should be about the same. They have already established themselves as the best defense in the division. In my opinion their uncertainty is still at the QB position. Brock Oswiler was given a huge sum of money and he only has 7 starts to his name. While he looked great during most of those 7 games he is still raw and struggles in the pocket. Wither or not he becomes the hall of fame QB is for time to tell.

The Colts have enjoyed success since the Payton Manning era and now try continue that dominance with Andrew Luck at the helm. Their dominant reign over the division is crumbling before Chuck Pagano’s eye’s. In 2015 Andrew Luck suffered a major injury with his kidney and missed most of the year. Most analysis say that’s why Pagano’s club fell off, but that doesn’t explain how the defense was so bad. Yes Indianapolis had defensive injuries too but no star players. The Colts didn’t draft defense heavy and lost a few starters in free agency. Along with the fact that Frank Gore isn’t a ball park home-run guy. They still have too many questions in their line up for any kinda playoff run.
