The Jacksonville Jaguars 2016 mock drafts are coming out in earnest now, bringing all kinds of opportunities for the team.

It’s that time of year when mock draft’s start flying and it’s a fun time for us fans. Lets dig in to my own fantasy Jacksonville Jaguars class of 2016.

Round 1: TRADE BACK!!!  PICK: Shaq Lawson, DE Clemson

I have Caldwell trading back in this mock draft and that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Caldwell stated earlier this week that he would be “very open to trading back into the teens” with their first round pick. The Jags also may be showing interest in Lawson, asking him about his injury and wither or not he’d be ready come Week 1.

Sign of things to come? There are a few hungry teams that would be willing to pay a good price for a low pick in this years draft. The Texans, Broncos, Colts, Steelers, Redskins, and Jets are all teams with later picks that have desperate needs, and are more importantly, trying to trade up.

Lawson would bring another pass rusher to pair with Dante Fowler Jr, with Jared Odrick also rotating on the inside the Jags need a “Big End” to come in and rush the passer. Shaq is just that. At 6’3 and 269 lbs, Lawson also boasts a 4.70 second 40 yard dash, he shows speed off the edge and power in the run game. A great pick for the Jags but the question still is: Will he be healthy come week 1? Most likely, but with the Jags already having felt the loss of a first round pick recently, are they willing to pull the trigger?
