Marcus Mariota will throw an interception: FICTION
The Jacksonville defense, and the secondary in particular, has done a pathetic job of forcing turnovers. While there is plenty of blame to throw at the defensive backs, the struggle to get interceptions begins with the defensive line. The Jaguars have not done a good job of pressuring opposing quarterbacks and it’s foolish to expect above-average quarterbacks to make silly mistakes and turn the ball over when they are able to calmly survey the field in the pocket.
With little reason to expect the Jaguars to all of a sudden find a pass rush, I don’t expect Marcus Mariota to make many mistakes this Sunday. For a young player, Mariota does a very good job avoiding risky throws and usually makes the right decision given the time and pocket. He’ll play a clean game this weekend.
