Jaguars Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Week 12

The Jaguars are set to play host to a Chargers’ team that is ravaged by injury. The Chargers come to Jacksonville with only 2 wins on the season. The Jaguars must win this game to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot in the AFC.  Thankfully for the Jags and your fantasy team, there are a ton of good matchups this week for your Jags!

Start ‘Em:

Blake Bortles: Bortles is going through a rough patch right now in fantasy, but despite his struggles, he has still produced enough to keep the Jags afloat. The Chargers’ defense is middle of the road against quarterbacks this year, which makes this a favorable matchup for Bortles. He will look to light it up against a Chargers defense that has shown no pass rush at all over the past several weeks. In DFS, Bortles has a moderate price tag and could be a key cog in a winning lineup this week.

Allen Robinson: Robinson has been a monster receiver this year regardless of his competition. The Chargers rank 5th against opposing WR’s — but it does not matter. He will likely be matched up with Jason Verrett, the Chargers’ best cover corner. Verrett has been very tough this year against WR’s, but he hasn’t faced the ultra talented AR-15. Look for Robinson to continue racking up fantasy points this week! He is not a great value play in DFS, and doesn’t draw the greatest matchup.  However he is capable of putting up big numbers any week.

Julius Thomas: Thomas has had a rough start to the season, but it now appears that he is going to be a focal point in the Jaguars’ aerial attack moving forward. Look for him to be targeted heavily again this week as the Chargers do not have a defender that can matchup with him. In DFS, his cost is moderate and his matchup is a good one.  He may also be a helpful TE or Flex play this week.

T.J. Yeldon: The Chargers are dreadful against RB’s this year, ranking dead last in the league. Yeldon and the offensive line will look to set the tone early by establishing a dominant run game. Yeldon hasn’t been the best fantasy RB this year, but he hasn’t scored less than 7 points since week 3. Look for him to re-emerge this week against an abysmal Chargers’ run defense. In DFS he can be had for cheap and should be a viable RB2 or Flex play this week.

Jason Myers: Myers has now made at least 3 FG’s in his last 3 games, and has been accurate in doing so. He is now fantasy relevant and could be a great play if your kicker is struggling.

Sit ‘Em;

Allen Hurns: It is with great regret that I take this position as Hurns has become a fan favorite in real life and fantasy. With Julius Thomas taking away targets from Hurns and nagging injuries catching up with him, Hurns had a down week in week 11 and now he faces a Chargers’ defense that is top 5 against opposing WR’s. This does not look to be a great week for Hurns, but who knows — he’s surprised us before.

Jaguars D/ST: The Jags have a favorable matchup, as the Chargers are greatly limited offensively, but historically Phillip Rivers has torched the Jags. The Jags defense has looked improved, but has not been consistent enough to start this week.
