4) Cap Capi, Defensive End
If you aren’t rooting for a guy with the name Cap Capi, then there is something wrong with you.
Fortunately, Capi makes rooting for him easy because he showed that he belongs in the NFL with his play on Friday night. Capi ended the night with two sacks and was getting in the face of the quarterback consistently. He looked like the kind of fresh legs that Gus Bradley would want in his defensive line rotation and he played with a high motor which I also liked to see.
Like George, there is definitely room for improvement. Capi also has a tougher position group to beat out if he wants a roster spot.
The undrafted rookie showed that he belongs and that may be the biggest takeaway from the night for him. The NFL isn’t too big for Cap Capi. He fits in.
Like Pierce and George, Capi left me wanting to see more from him. Can he get to the quarterback against better players? Can he do it consistently against backups? Where can he fit in during the rotation? Gus Bradley will probably give us answers in the coming weeks as Capi definitely deserves more attention after his performance on Friday night.
