Ndamukong Suh wasn’t franchised by the Detroit Lions, opening the door for teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars to pursue him. That’s huge as he promises to be one of, if not the, biggest free agent targets in the 2015 NFL Free Agency period. I like seeing Suh test the waters and it’s great to have such a premiere talent available. He’s a disruptive play maker and he forces teams to scheme against him.

But he’s also got a virulent side to him. It’s a side that has cost money and doesn’t sit well with people and could lead to time off the field. He’s a great football player and a mean streak is just what some teams need, but there are still reasons to avoid Ndamukong Suh in this year’s free agency period. We’ll dive into them here.

To start, we’ll see what Chris Wesseling and Gregg Rosenthal have to say about the guy they have ranked as their top free agent prospect:

"Outside of quarterbacks and the two unanimous All-Pros (J.J. Watt, Rob Gronkowski), Suh and Odell Beckham are the two unique talents around whom we would most like to build a franchise. A double-team defeater against the run as well as the pass, Suh is on a Hall-of-Fame career path. Suh is likely to hit free agency after the Lions chose not to use the franchise tag on him."

Keep that in the back of your mind and weigh the negatives against his impressive play.
