The Jaguars came into 2014 with a very young and inexperienced offensive line.
Unfortunately, the group has been highly unimpressive and should expect a pretty drastic makeover.
David Caldwell’s first draft pick, Luke Joeckel, has been very ineffective at left tackle.
Joeckel is unlikely to lose his job, but there is a desperate need to both push the youngster as well as get quality depth behind him. The Jaguars would be wise to spend a mid-round pick on a tackle to see if they can groom him into a future left tackle or immediate right tackle.
The largest area of need for upgrade will come at center and right tackle.
Luke Bowanko and Austin Pasztor have both played decent at best, but the Jaguars know that will not get the job done. Bowanko will have a chance to battle for his job, but between free agency and the draft, it would be hard to imagine that the Jaguars cannot get an instant upgrade.
With their franchise quarterback on the roster, the Jaguars will make his protection their number one priority.
