Jacksonville Jaguars Week 14 Power Rankings: Movin’ On Up

Just when they appeared to cement themselves as the worst team in the league, the Jacksonville Jaguars came out on Sunday and pulled out the biggest comeback in franchise history as they defeated the New York Giants 25-24. Despite a 21-point deficit early in the first half, the Jaguars rallied behind a monster performance on defense and avoided yet another loss. With the Oakland Raiders and other bottom dwellers looking poor this past weekend, the Jaguars took advantage and worked their way up some of the rankings.

Here’s where the Jaguars fell in some of the power rankings around the web:

FanSided – Josh Sanchez

"27. Jacksonville Jaguars(2-10)Last week: W vs. NYG, 25-24Last rank: 32nd"

"Don’t look now, but the Jacksonville Jaguars have picked up their second win in as many months. Sure, they won’t make the playoffs, but the fans can at least enjoy a second week on the positive side of the final score. Jacksonville has an opportunity to build off of their second win of the year by spoiling the playoff hopes of the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens in the final month of the season."

FOXSports – Dan Schneier

"27. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (2-10) HIGH: 27 / LOW: 32Gus Bradley has his team fighting hard in spite of their record, and his defense has finally started to generate more pressure that has led to more big plays in recent weeks."

ESPN.com

"31. JaguarsNice win for Blake Bortles and the Jaguars, coming back from a 21-0 deficit. Bortles’ passing numbers weren’t special (21-of-35, 194 yds, TD), but 68 rush yards helped."

CBS Sports – Pete Prisco

"30. JaguarsThey hurt their draft position by beating the Giants, but this is a young team that needs to learn how to win. So it’s good from that standpoint."

CBS Sports – Pat Kirwan

"28. Jaguars (32): Blake Bortles has a game-winning drive and the Jags overcame a 21-0 deficit to win. One more win before the end of the season would be great. The pass rush is looking good and will be better in 2015."

NFL.com – Elliot Harrison

"29. JaguarsCongrats to the Jags, whose stay in the Power Rankings cellar was short-lived. Sure, they’re still cruddy. But they really play hard for Gus Bradley, and showed a lot of poise coming back from a 21-zip deficit. Give that pass rush some serious credit, with two sack-strips and four sacks overall. Jacksonville is now 4-0 all time vs. the Giants — two of those came against Tom Coughlin, and two came under Tom Coughlin."
