How Many Games Will The Jacksonville Jaguars Win? [Poll]
By Luke Sims
The Jacksonville Jaguars put together just their second victory of the season, dispatching the 3-9 New York Giants with a major second half rally on both the defense and the offense.
With the victory, the Jaguars seem to breathe new life into a season that is already dead. Despite only being able to finish 6-10 at best, the Jaguars put together their most competitive game since the week eight pick-six fest against the Miami Dolphins. Since then, the Jags have floundered, lacking identity and failing to capitalize on strong defensive play.
The defense managed to clamp down on the Giants on Sunday, giving the offense opportunities and putting points on the board themselves.
So, how well will the Jacksonville Jaguars do for the rest of the season? Will they be able to string together some victories like they did in 2013 or will they flounder again and not manage to put together another victory? Sunday’s win certainly wasn’t a parade of perfectly executed plays. It was messy, gritty. But a win’s a win, right?
The Jags’ remaining schedule features two games against the Houston Texans, a game against the Baltimore Ravens, and the second game against the Tennessee Titans. Of those four, only the Tennessee game seems like one where the Jaguars would have an advantage. The others will likely go the other way unless the Jaguars can learn from their mistakes and build on their successes and momentum following the week 13 victory over the Giants. My optimistic side believes they could at least split the series against the Texans, but with J.J. Watt playing at Defensive Player of the Year levels, they may succumb just to his utter dominance.
Weigh in in the quiz below! Who’s more optimistic then me? Anybody think that the Jaguars will be able to spoil a late-season run to the playoffs for the Texans?
