Jacksonville Jaguars Week 11 Power Rankings: Stuck at the Bottom
By Daniel Lago
The Jacksonville Jaguars suffered their second straight blowout in London this past Sunday at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys, and they lost despite playing against a handicapped Tony Romo.
The Jaguars couldn’t establish an effective pass rush for the first time in the entire season, and they paid for it dearly in the form of big plays.
After such an emphatic loss, we shouldn’t expect too much respect in the power rankings.
Here’s where the Jaguars fell in some of the power rankings around the web.
NFL Spin Zone – Justin Rosenberg
"29. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-9)Last week: 1-8 recordLast rank: 29thThe Jacksonville Jaguars continued their habit of losing this past Sunday, dropping their third straight game. Over the last four seasons – outside of the Oakland Raiders – no team has done losing better than the Jags. The Jags now have had seven straight losing seasons. This year is a little bit different, though. They are in full rebuild mode and have the youngest team in the NFL. They are very inexperienced, so in-game play helps, win or lose. Unfortunately, they lost one of their best youngsters, wide receiver Allen Robinson, suffering a stress fracture in his right foot. Robinson leads the team in receptions and in receiving yards. The loss of Robinson is going to be tough moving forward. Of course, you never want to see anyone go down with a serious injury, but the Jaguars can now evaluate more of their young talent. They have a bye this week before playing Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. This is good because they’ll need as much planning for Luck as they can get."
"31. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (1-9) HIGH: 28 / LOW: 32Denard Robinson continues to look like the real deal as the Jaguars’ featured running back, but that’s about the only thing going right for this team."
"31. JaguarsDenard Robinson’s 32-yard touchdown run Sunday was his third rush of the season that gained at least 30 yards. The only player with more is Houston’s Arian Foster (six)."
"30. JaguarsThey might want to stay away from London. The last two years over there, they’ve been blown out."
"30. Jaguars (29): The effort is still there after 10 games but there just isn’t enough talent. The pass rush is encouraging."
"31. JaguarsThe Jags are consistent. They lose, domestically and internationally, with aplomb. Once again, the run defense struggled. The pass rush was not able to mitigate that deficiency by getting to the quarterback, either. Hey, they can’t lose in Week 11!"
