Jacksonville Jaguars Week 10 Power Rankings: Still Lying Low
By Daniel Lago
The Jacksonville Jaguars fell to 1-8 after falling to the Cincinnati Bengals 33-23 on Sunday, so there’s little reason to expect the perception of the team to change heading into their London game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Despite the loss, the Jaguars have shown they are not only better than their record, but they are significantly better than the team that took the field in 2013. With that said, we shouldn’t expect a big move up in the power rankings.
Here’s where the Jaguars fell in some of the power rankings around the web.
"30. Jacksonville Jaguars(1-8)Last week: 33-23 L CINLast rank: 30thAllen Hurns was a sensation at the beginning of the year, and he bounced back with a seven-catch, 112-yard, two-TD display against the Cincinnati Bengals yesterday. With Hurns developing, the Jagaurs have plenty of skill position players, especially since current sensation Denard Robinson continues to shine, holding up the running game. The Jaguars played well on offense, but they were completely inept on defense, as they were pulverized by Jeremy Hill and had no answer for the rising Mohamed Sanu"
"31. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (1-8) HIGH: 28 / LOW: 32Denard Robinson’s promotion to lead back has sparked the Jaguars offense, but there’s just not enough talent on the defensive side of the ball to compete in many games."
"31. JaguarsThis season is Jacksonville’s third straight 1-8 start. The Jags will always have Week 7’s win over the Browns (though it could mean they’re stuck with the second overall draft pick)."
"30. JaguarsThey are 1-8 as they go to London to play the Cowboys. Even so, they are improving."
"29. Jaguars (29): The Jaguars compete and Blake Bortles will be good someday, but right now it’s hard to watch the Jaguars and expect a win. They will win a few games late in the season when Bortles has more experience."
"30. JaguarsJags fans caught a glimpse of what Blake Bortles can do when he doesn’t commit multiple turnovers. But more importantly, Jacksonville has found a player in Denard Robinson. The letdown Sunday, of course, was the run defense, which — with the game on the line — made the Bengals really work for the game-clinching score. And when I say “really work,” I mean Cincy had to run one play. Sigh."
