Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl Odds Are Sobering

At 1-6 the Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl odds obviously aren’t going to be great, but as excitement builds around the team’s first win Las Vegas strikes at our hearts and reminds us that the odds of the Jaguars reaching the Super Bowl are still depressing. The words Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl come up so rarely that it’s no surprise, but it still feels like Vegas is raining on our min-parade just a little bit.

After all, head coach Gus Bradley even let up a bit to let the players revel in the first victory of the season.

So, how sobering are the odds?

Fansided’s Josh Sanchez reported that Bovada has released the odds and the current Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl odds are right near the bottom. Not at the bottom, mind you, but just above the Oakland Raiders and hovering with the likes of the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1/1000.

Those current odds are better than the 1/3000 for the winless Oakland Raiders, though the Jags had those exact odds in week seven.

In the bliss of winning 24-6 I want nothing more than to overlook that the Super Bowl is so far away. I would much rather continue to turn my attention to the 2015 NFL Draft and who the Jaguars may select with their inevitably potentially high pick. Alas, Vegas continues to draw attention to the holy grail of sports: The Lombardi Trophy.

I dream of a day when the Jaguars may be in contention for that trophy, but for now it’s all about getting better. I’ll keep in mind that the Jaguars made progress the last three weeks and that week seven finally yielded the first win. Progress is being made. Players are getting better. Pieces may very well be in place that could bring the Jaguars to the big game in the future.

For now, though, 1/1000 makes it seem all too far away.
