Jacksonville Jaguars Jump Up Power Rankings [Fansided]
By Luke Sims
In what is a slightly premature power ranking for this week, Josh Sanchez at Fansided threw together this week’s power rankings and the Jacksonville Jaguars have jumped up a few spots following their victory over the Cleveland Browns.
Here’s what Sanchez had to say about the Jaguars (up 3):
"The Jaguars did it. On their seventh try, Jacksonville was able to pick up their first win of the season by upending the surging Cleveland Browns. With rookie quarterback Blake Bortles and running back Storm Johnson, the Jaguars future seems to be looking bright."
Here’s what Sanchez had to say about the Browns (down four):
"The Cleveland Brown’ momentum came to a screeching halt on Sunday, thanks to a poor showing against the Jacksonville Jaguars which led to Gus Bradley’s squad earning their first win of the year. Cleveland can still rebound thanks to a strong running game, but they will need to avoid another letdown against the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in coming weeks."
I appreciate the recognition of a tough win for the Jaguars and I agree that the future is looking bright for the team, but it seems most bright because of running back Denard Robinson right now. Robinson put together a complete game which helped the Jaguars overcome some very rookie-like play from quarterback Blake Bortles. While we’re handing out accolades we need to recognize the defense as well. The unit did a superb job limiting the Browns to just six points after they came deep into Jaguar territory three times.
The Browns, however, have got to be reeling after this heartbreaking loss to the Jaguars. They were the darling of the NFL heading into week seven and were put down by the last place Jags. That hurts, no matter how used to defeat your franchise is. Trust me, this is a Jaguars site.
