Jacksonville Jaguars Week 7 Power Rankings: Rock Bottom
By Daniel Lago
The Jacksonville Jaguars let a prime opportunity slip through their fingers last Sunday as they lost to what appeared to be an inferior Tennessee Titans team. Despite a pretty solid performance from Blake Bortles and a spirited effort from the defense, the Jaguars had too many costly mistakes and couldn’t put it all together. They are now alone with the Raiders at the bottom of the standings, and the Raiders have had a couple of impressive performances against the Patriots and Chargers. With that in mind, it’s not a surprise that the Jaguars are now dead last in most power rankings.

"Number 31: Jacksonville Jaguars (0-6)Jacksonville’s late surge against the Titans fell just short. Still, you have to look at the positives if you’re a Jaguars fan. Blake Bortles had his best game as a pro, throwing a career high with 336 yards and one interception, adding another 38 yards on the ground. The Jaguars are a really young team that is obviously preparing for a bright future. I think they found their guy with Blake Bortles."
"32. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (0-6) HIGH: 28 / LOW: 32After generating no offense for nearly the entire game, Blake Bortles sparked an exciting comeback that ultimately fell short due to a special teams miscue. This team seems to find new ways to lose."
"32. JaguarsWe are not witnessing the glory days of the Jaguars franchise. Jacksonville’s 0-6 start is the second worst in team history, behind last year’s 0-8 start.."
"32. JaguarsThey found out they have a real keeper in Blake Bortles at quarterback. Now it’s just about getting better the rest of the way around him."
"31. Jaguars: I like what I see in rookie QB Blake Bortles (336 yards passing vs. Tennessee) and I think the Jags pass rush is pretty good … but that’s where the positives stop for now."
"32. JaguarsIt was a tough job, but somebody had to lose to the reeling Titans. Enter the Jaguars, who can’t get out of their own way. Jacksonville outgained Tennessee by almost 100 yards, nearly doubled the Titans’ first-down total and didn’t start a career backup QB who dons a “More than Words”-style ponytail — yet they still lost. What’s worse than that? Maybe those “A Storm is coming!” quips by broadcasters. Presented without further comment … Storm Johnson: 10 carries for 21 yards. Get excited."
