Jacksonville Jaguars 2014 Training Camp: Day 2 Twitter Recap
By Daniel Lago

Saturday is a big day for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Everbank Field, as the new scoreboards are being unveiled in between a friendly between DC United and Fulham FC and a Carrie Underwood concert. But first, the Jaguars conducted a training camp practice. Here are some of the tidbits via Twitter:
Unsurprisingly, Jaguars fans showed up in droves and the turnout was terrific.

We got some information about which players are taking days off and who’s working with the 1’s, 2’s, and 3’s.
Appears #Jaguars LB Geno Hayes indeed has a day off. He's expected to be day on, day off during camp.

Yes, rookie LB Telvin Smith with starters in place of Geno Hayes @Stiggymayneee: @APMarkLong telvin working with the 1's?”
— Mark Long (@APMarkLong) July 26, 2014
Linebacker Geno Hays appears to be getting the expected veterans day off every other day, which gives rookie linebacker Telvin Smith a chance to work with the starters.
S Josh Evans getting some reps. Still limited but working.#Jaguars

A story line to follow will be the starting safety spot next to Johnathan Cyprien, as Josh Evans has work his way back into the rotation after offseason surgery.
Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts III not at practice, apparently working inside because of hamstring tweak

Shorts out a couple weeks. #Jaguars

Shorts was the lone injury of day 1 of training camp, and it appears the Jaguars are correctly going to leave him on the sidelines for as long as he needs to heal up.
Working at kick returner(no order): Storm, Doss, slaughter, Belue, Blackmon, K Taylor, Todman #JagsCamp #Jaguars

With Ace Sanders out, the starting kick and punt returner spots are there for the taking. Tandon Doss is likely only making the roster if he can secure a spot as a returner.
It’s exciting to hear Denard Robinson’s outstanding offseason is continuing into the start of training camp. He could be the surprise star on offense if he keeps up his pace through camp and the preseason.
And of course, the quarterbacks got quite a bit of attention.
Henne incomplete to Hurns, covered by Gratz near sideline. The hits same route on 3rd and 10 for 1st down. drill over #jagscamp #Jaguars

Henne didn’t get a lot of praise on Twitter, as Bortles got most of the attention.

Bortles with TD pass to Damian Copeland. Three play drive #JagsCamp #Jaguars

Bortles example of a ball that didn't look pretty but got there for touchdown to Copeland. Also hit long ball to Kerry Taylor in 2 minute

Blake Bortles is throwing it much better than he did in minicamp. Maybe his arm needed a break after draft process. #Jaguars

It’s not time to declare Bortles a legitimate candidate for the starting spot week 1, but it’ll be interesting to see what happens if Bortles consistently outperforms Henne through camp.
