With a little over a week to go until the 2014 NFL Draft, some of the selections in the top 5 are becoming more and more familiar. Draftniks are still trying to find ways to mix it up here and there, but the same 3 or 4 names continue to be rotated at the top.

Todd McShay recently released his 5.0 mock draft and he’s sticking to his guns for the most part. Like a lot of people around the web, he is sending Jadeveon Clowney to the Houston Texans and Greg Robinson to the St. Louis Rams at 1 and 2 respectively. Consequently, he chooses Sammy Watkins over Khalil Mack for the Jaguars.

"Analysis: The Jaguars are another team that needs a quarterback, and it’s certainly possible that they could go in that direction here. Khalil Mack also makes a lot of sense as a guy who could fill the “Leo” role in the Jags’ defense. But Jacksonville has a need at receiver because of the uncertainty surrounding Justin Blackmon, and Watkins brings very good speed, acceleration, competitiveness and run-after-catch ability to the position.– Todd McShay"

I’ve been pretty consistent about wanting Teddy Bridgewater at number 3 overall, but pretty much nobody thinks it is a possibility at this point. With such a deep receiver class in this draft, I’m not as set on taking Watkins with the third overall pick as other people seem to be. There should be a handful of good receivers available at the top of the 2nd round and probably the 3rd as well.
