The Jacksonville Jaguars continued to prepare on Tuesday for their second preseason game against the New York Jets after having their worst offensive practice on Monday. It appears the staff is content with keeping Cecil Shorts III out until at least the third preseason game. Justin Forsett and Russell Allen also remained out with lingering injuries and Brad Meester got an obligatory veterans day off. First round pick Luke Joeckel also stayed to the side with his hip flexor injury. Don’t be surprised to see Joeckel kept out of this week’s game as well.

After running through some light positional drills, the Jaguars got into some team drills where Gabbert began with the first team offense.
11 on 11 … Gabbert working with starters... Laroy Reynolds in with first-team d ... Andre branch at leo with Babin resting.

Ace Sanders continues to shine and Maurice Jones-Drew is looking better every day in practice it seems. Sanders didn’t have the best day against Miami, but he should improve through the preseason.

Jonathan Cyprien continued to establish his presence coming back from injury and should be a highlight on defense the rest of camp.

Justin Blackmon continued to shine after returning from the PUP list and he’s going to be sorely missed during the first four games of the season. He seems to have some rapport with Gabbert, even if it’s inconsistent.

In two days of practice, Blackmon has two of the top catches in training camp. #Jaguars

Despite a few highlights, overall the offense continued to look awful through most of practice. Without having any film to review it’s difficult to definitively say Gabbert and the offense are not improving, but reports from camp are demoralizing to say the least.
Gabbert with one's but can't get a guy to make a play. Marcedes, Brown and Ebert all had hands on passes and didn't catch it.

In 11-on-11 today, Gabbert was 4-of-10, Henne 5-of-8. #Jaguars

The poor performance even prompted veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis to give the offense a few choice words.
