As the players inch closer to wearing full pads, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ fourth day of training camp played out in a similar manner to the first three days. Inconsistency from the quarterbacks, flashes by some of the younger players, and veterans showing they’re ready for the season to start.
Gabbert five of five on first series of practice

Gabbert one for five on second drive… henne on now

Gabbert with one good team session, one not so good. Lack of consistency not a reassuring trend at Jaguars camp.

Blaine Gabbert was his usual self today. It’s not fun to reemphasize the same topic everyday, but this has always been the story with Gabbert. He performs well in spurts but that’s not enough.
Both Chad Henne and Gabbert started the practice strong in 11 on 11 drills. Unfortunately, Henne, Gabbert, and Matt Scott all had a pretty rough stretch between the three of them to balance it out.
Not a single ball hit the ground in Jaguars 1st 11 on 11 drills. BG was 5 for 5. CH was 3 for 3

Jaguars QBs Gabbert, Henne & Scott combined for 9 straight incompletions in 2nd 11-on 11-drill

The story of the day though came at the end of practice when it appeared Gabbert got his ankle stepped on. He had his ankle taped up and was carted off the field but it appears the injury isn’t too serious.
QB Blaine Gabbert sprained his right ankle at practice today and left practice. Will be evaluated next two days. #Jaguars

Hopefully Gabbert can get back on the field quickly because his starting job is not guaranteed.
While Henne hasn’t looked better outright, it will be difficult to place Gabbert ahead of him on the depth chart if he misses significant time.
Other encouraging observations include Tyson Alualu getting more comfortable at his new position of defensive end and rookie offensive weapon Denard Robsinon having a much better day. Robinson even took a couple snaps at quarterback in the wildcat.
Did I mention that Alualu has quick hands? Monroe couldn't get his hands on him

4. Denard Robinson made a step forward -- no fumbles or drops and took some Wildcat QB work. #Jaguars

Rookie receiver Ace Sanders continues to impress and he should earn some playing time in the slot if he continues his high level of play in practice.
2. Big day for WR Ace Sanders, who had the advantage on several plays against CB Dwayne Gratz. #Jaguars
