…Jarvis Jones, OLB/DE, Georgia

Jones is a popular pick among Jaguar fans.  He has an explosiveness that the Jaguars defense desperately needs.  Jones has three seasons (2009, 2011, 2012) under his belt at both USC and Georgia.  Since coming to Georgia his play has become dependable and strong.  Jones racked up an impressive 147 tackles while at Georgia with 42 tackles for a loss.  Jones is a penetrating force that could immediately help the Jaguars either at defensive end or as a 3-4 rushing linebacker.

Most importantly for the Jaguars, Jones knows how to get to the quarterback.  He has 26 sacks in his college carrer, all with Georgia.  His consistency (13.5 in 2011 and 12.5 in 2012) is something that the Jaguars simply don’t have.  When your team is impressed by somebody who gets eight sacks in one year despite not showing much for most of his career, you know you need someone who can consistently get it done.  Jones may be the man for that.

According to Fansided’s Josh Sanchez:

"The Jaguars need to upgrade along the defensive front seven. One way to do that would be by selecting a player like Jones that has been compared to Denver’s Von Miller. Jones can play with his hand in the dirt and make some plays standing. Jones is battle tested in the toughest conference in college football and he has shown he is an elite pass rusher that can change a game."

What do you guys think?  Jones could be an instant upgrade and is a popular pick with many fans.
