Plus Guys

Austin Pasztor: +0.9 Overall, +0.9 Pass Block, -0.2 Run Block

Toby Gerhart: +0.7 Overall, +0.4 Pass, +0.2 Rush, +0.1 Pass Block

Zane Beadles: +0.2 Overall, -0.2 Pass Block, +0.3 Run Block

Only mustering 3 points despite multiple turnovers forced by the defense, there was very little redeeming about the Jaguars’ offensive performance on Sunday. The Jaguars only had 4 players grade out positively on offense, and one of those guys (Gerhart) only played 12 snaps. Three of the top 4 performers were offensive lineman, further crumbling the perception that the Jaguars have a terrible group up front. Regardless, the Jaguars were broken top-to-bottom offensively on Sunday, and there really isn’t any one guy who deserves praise.

In his first 4 starts, Bortles amassed a cumulative overall grade of -8.7, while over his last 4 starts he’s amassed an overall grade of -18.9.

Minus Guys

Blake Bortles: -4.2 Overall, -4.7 Pass, +0.4 Rush

Allen Hurns: -3.0 Overall, -2.1 Pass

Luke Bowanko:  -3.0 Overall, -1.3 Pass Block, -1.8 Run Block

Blake Bortles had an awful day, arguably his worst as a pro, and his inability to improve on his previous outings is starting to become a concern. In his first 4 starts, Bortles amassed a cumulative overall grade of -8.7, while over his last 4 starts he’s amassed an overall grade of -18.9. He’s gotten considerably and noticeably worse, particularly with pushing the ball down the field.  Bortles only completed one ball that traveled over 10 yards, and he only attempted 4 passes in the deep part of the field. It’s not time to start talking bust, but Bortles needs to leave some encouraging signs on the field over the last 5 games.

Hurns saw his grade knocked down thanks to a pretty bad drop, and Luke Bowanko had his worst outing since week 4 against San Diego. Neither performances are particularly discouraging, but the Jaguars need to figure out what the heck is going on with the offense.
