The 2008 Jacksonville Jaguars: A Season In Pictures
As the year winds down, we know that 2009 will have a long time to think about the Jacksonville Jaguars. With no playoffs, the Jaguars will not come onto the field until August. That is a long off season. How did we get to the off season so quickly? Let’s take a look back on the 2008 season, as painful as it might be. Game One Jacksonville at Tennessee. Final Score: Tennessee 17, Jacksonville 10 Game Two Buffalo at Jacksonville. Final Score: Buffalo 20, Jacksonville 16 Game Three Jacksonville at Indianapolis. Final Score: Jacksonville 23, Indianapolis 21 Game Four Houston at Jacksonville. Final [...]

What The Jaguars Game Means For The Playoffs
Yeah, the Jaguars aren’t going to the playoffs. That doesn’t mean that we don’t hold the fate of other team’s playoff chances in our hands. It is nice being powerful in a season where everything else has fallen to pieces. Baltimore will clinch the 6th playoff spot if they beat the Jaguars today. That is probably what is going to happen because we aren’t starting many players of merrit. However, if we beat Baltimore things get more interesting. There are more than a few teams fighting for that spot and it has a lot to do with the AFC East. [...]
Week 17 Preview: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Baltimore Ravens
Finally. The Jaguars disappointing 2008 season will be coming to a close after a trip to Baltimore that means everything to the Ravens and nothing to the Jaguars. The Ravens are 12 1/2 point favorites and rightfully so, they have not allowed any team to score more than 13 points at home this season. With all of the players on IR and Maurice Jones-Drew questionable, the Jaguars may have to depend on David Garrard and a passing game that has struggled all season to put points on the board. I hate to sound like a pessimist but I don’t like [...]
Happy Holidays From BlackandTeal
Happy Holidays Last year for Christmas my parents got me Jaguars season tickets. Maybe this year they’ll get me a better football team!
James “Shack” Harris Resigns | Gene Smith Promoted
With speculation circling that James “Shack” Harris was going to be the victim of the Jaguras disappointing season, he took matters into his own hands and resigned his position as vice president of player personnel. Shack Harris had been in the position since 2003 and will be replaced by Gene Smith who has been with the Jaguars since 1994. AFC South Breakdown Week 16
(Jeanne Alexis writes for Black & Teal, which is FSB’s Jacksonville Jaguars blog. Representing the rest of the AFC South are Naptown’s Finest, Titan Sized and Toro Times.) While it seems like the entire NFC is up in the air, the AFC is much more stable. We know our winners. We have our losers. There aren’t too many wacky playoff chances here. The most decided division is the AFC South. The Titans have home field advantage. The Colts are the fifth seed. The Texans are secure in number three. The Jaguars have a really good draft pick to look forward to. That makes this division pretty [...]
Things To Be Optimistic About
As the Jaguars prepare for the strong Baltimore Ravens, there is a lot for fans to think about. What is there to be happy about? Half the starters are on IR, there are too many positions that need to be fixed so the draft can’t solve problems, the two starters we traded half the draft away for looked flat against the Colts. I could write you a dissertation on all the bad things going on with the Jaguars. That would be easy. But I am not going to go the easy route. I am going to look at what there is to [...]
Colts at Jaguars Preview
The Jaguars are 5-9, guaranteeing them a losing season without a trip to the playoffs. They aren’t going to win their division. In fact, they are making a strong argument for last place. All those things are true so what do the Jaguars really have to play for when they face off against the Colts tonight? The Jaguars are going to do what they do best: play spoiler. The Colts are in a wild card run with the Ravens, the Patriots and the Dolphins. If the Jaguars defeat them tonight, their playoff run becomes that much more difficult, especially when you consider [...]
