The NFL knows we all get pretty antsy after the draft as we patiently wait for the football season. So they decided to give us fans a little bit of football excitement by making an event out of the upcoming season schedule announcement. To make it better and show fans that they get us, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and all other teams, make an entertaining short video to accompany their season schedule release.
Some clubs take those seriously, others phone it in, while others still try their best but miss the mark completely. So let's review some of these videos and highlight what works, what doesn't, and what made us smile. Today we will look at two of the schedule release videos that hit and one that missed the mark.
First off, two teams set themselves apart with their scheduled release videos. The Los Angles Chargers and the Tennessee Titans won the internet this weekend, without a doubt. The Chargers anime was fresh, unique, and a lot of fun. The Titans nailed it with the Broadway man on the street video, but also impressed with their second video, a first-person follow-cam tour of Nashville. Great job, Titans and Chargers media teams.
Next, a few teams put together great release videos, so let's discuss honorable mentions. The Dolphins put together a terrific video, with movie trailers of their incoming opponents, the Regal Cinemas' old-school rollercoaster intro. It played Dolphins, great work. Here is the Dolphins video if you didn't catch it.

The Broncos with the Office parody worked, and The Giants and Victor Cruz escape room was great. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Buffalo Bills and their dream jobs. Now let's get to our two videos that really hit.
No. 2 schedule release video that hit: Cleveland Browns
Then Cleveland Browns truly understood what a scheduled release video should be. The Dawg Pound Wrestling promo was perfect. It spoke to the fans, made its point creatively, and gave all Browns fans a bit of entertaining NFL content. Watch it in all its WWE-style glory again below.

And we're back! From the Yinzer Yellar and Brojack Horseman to Edgar Allen Poe-ser, the Browns media team executed the character creation wonderfully. Then there was Brownies wrestling, with the Brownie Stomp, and the Brownie elbow, something about an unimposing elf throwing down worked.
This fun, entertaining video made it to our list of best schedule release videos because it seemed to have advanced knowledge of other teams' videos. They were able to sneak in some real-time shots at the Titans, Jaguars, and Rams.
The Music City One-Man Band had a "few too many old sodas on Broadway last night" was a nice dig at the Titan's Broadway man on the street video.
Then they poke some fun at the Los Angeles Rams and their influencer video. Rightfully so, the Rams' release video was weak and unimaginative. But I will stay; the dual-citizen Jaguars character was rubbing a sore spot with us Jaguar fans. A lot of moving to London talk kicked up with the two International games on the schedule for the Jags this year. That is the point guess, but it backs up my theory the Browns had some prior insight into these videos.
All-in-all, it was a great video, creative, fun, and, most importantly, executed perfectly. Excellent work for the media team in Clevland.
No. 1 schedule release video that hit: Jacksonville Jaguars
While it may be slightly biased, the Jaguars' release video hit. The comment circling social media that the NFL isn't just fixed but is scripted has been a topic of conversation all off-season. So much so that two teams independently tackled the idea in their schedule release videos.
While the Saints tried the same theme with an NFL writer scripting out the season, they missed the execution completely. The Saints video was goofy, uninspired, and cringy at times. Watch it here and see what I mean.

The Jaguars, however, nailed their scripted video. It was meta and funny; everyone in the video performed very well. Where the video got brilliant is the cameo by Jaguars owner Shahid Khan. Mr. Khan carries himself with dignity and an air of magnificence, always impeccably overdressed. When you meet him, you do not get an every-man impression; you know you're in the presence of an important man.

Mr. Khan stole the show in this schedule-release video with his casual beach guy role. It was hysterical, and he was surprisingly good. Let's revisit the Jaguars' schedule release video and focus on Mr. Khan. Give that man the Emmy.

The Jaguars' 2022 season was unbelievable, which was the perfect setting to make this video. That is one of the big reasons this one hit while the Saints similar video missed.
The video didn't paint a great picture of who the Jaguars are playing this year but summed up exactly how all Jaguars fans feel going into the season. Trevor Lawrence plays quarterback Trevor Lawrence in Trevor Lawrence's scripted season, "The Trevor Lawrence Show." I can't wait to tune in on Sunday.
The one schedule release video that missed the mark: Carolina Panthers
As great as the release videos were this year and a vast improvement across the board from last year, some teams still don't seem to get the idea. The Buccaneers video was lame, the Seahawks was cute, but come on, and I think the Washington Commanders really did forget to make one.
Yet still, one team went all out and swung for the fences. However, it was a complete bomb. The Carolina Panthers video was a brutal miss. Watch it below and see what you think.

It took me a bit to grasp which team's schedule release video it was. Each scene was odd and confusing. I still don't know if the Panthers are playing the Bengals or the Lions.
There were so many skits that were just too odd. The fish throwing, the lemons, and whatever was happening in the closet with the Falcons. The media team couldn't come up with anything better? I think a high school drama club probably could have done better. Also, don't hurt dolphins, that's not cool.
Adam Thielen was weird and awkward. The Hayden Hurst/ Bears scene was unnecessary, and Spider Burns made no sense. While some teams didn't put much effort into their videos, the Panthers seemed to be trying extra hard and still failed. Better luck next year, North Carolina Tigers, I mean Panthers.
