3. Jacksonville Jaguars player in line to make the Pro Bowl: Tyson Campbell

Taking Tyson Campbell with the 33rd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft seemed like an unnecessary luxury. The Jags had just signed Shaquill Griffin and brought back Sidney Jones, who had started several games for them in 2020.

On top of that, the team’s brass had re-signed Tre Herndon and former first-round pick C.J. Henderson was coming off a promising rookie campaign, so it looked like Campbell was going to have a tough time seeing the field.

However, Jacksonville traded Jones before the start of the season and Herndon suffered an MCL injury in the preseason, paving the way for Campbell to start. Although the former Georgia Bulldog struggled early on, he played much better as the season progressed. Another reason for his improved play was moving outside after the Jaguars sent Henderson to the Carolina Panthers.

Campell finished the 2021 season with a team-high two interceptions and went on to have an even better sophomore year, allowing a solid 54.2 percent completion rate on 83 targets and giving up fewer than 10 yards per reception. Moreover, he registered three picks and 15 passes defensed.

Given how effective Campbell was in 2022, you could make the case he should have earned a Pro Bowl selection. As a matter of fact, he was more deserving than Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard, who had a somewhat down season.

The silver lining is that Campbell might not have reached his ceiling yet and should be even better next season, which will make it hard to omit him from the Pro Bowl
