The Jacksonville Jaguars are getting ready to host the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night in their first playoff game since the 2017 season.

However, that doesn’t mean that anyone should not also focus on what is going on in terms of off-season transactions at this point.

The Jags are not a finished product yet and are still looking for ways to get better. One way to do that is to acquire a wide receiver like DeAndre Hopkins.

Hopkins might be available now and he would make a great fit for this Jacksonville team looking to surround Trevor Lawrence with as many weapons as they can. One of these three packages might be able to get a deal done to bring him to the Jaguars:

The Jacksonville Jaguars should see what it would cost to land Deandre Hopkins.

Let’s pretend that the Cardinals are just willing to trade DeAndre Hopkins for a couple of draft picks. That is probably what it is going to mostly end up being no matter what team it is that acquires his services.

Hopkins has been one of the best receivers in the NFL over the course of his career but some factors have lowered his price for the Cardinals when it comes to a trade. They are certainly not going to get what they gave up in order to get him from the Houston Texans.

Giving up a third and a fifth for Hopkins should be easy for the Jaguars at this point. They are entering a winning window (or at least they hope) so they should be trying their best to do just that. For the Cardinals, draft picks will really help them no matter what direction they go.

There could be a world where the Jacksonville Jaguars only give up one pick.

DeAndre Hopkins is someone that could really help the Jacksonville Jaguars grow their game in 2023 and beyond. They are getting better with every passing day because Trevor Lawrence is becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League.

Adding a stud wide receiver like Hopkins would be somewhat of a risk because you’d be giving up assets for a guy that wasn’t on the field a lot in 2022. However, we know the impact he can have when he is on the field, especially for a young up-and-coming team.

Trevor Lawrence would be a better quarterback if he added a receiver like this (or someone like him). There are plenty of good ones out there but they might be able to buy low on Hopkins this off-season as the Arizona Cardinals might be off-loading this spring summer.

Giving up one second-round pick for him might actually be on the pricy side when it comes to what he is worth. However, if the Jaguars decide that he is worth trading for during the off-season, they might want to think about beating some other teams to him.

It might really help them. The schedule is going to be very difficult for the Jaguars as they will be playing a first-place group of teams in the AFC. Having DeAndre Hopkins available for games against the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, and Kansas City Chiefs would be great.

The Jacksonville Jaguars might be able to get DeAndre Hopkins for cheap.

Hopkins might be even cheaper than anyone thought by the time the final deal is made. That is why a future fourth-round pick and a future seventh-round pick might be something that gets the deal done for the Jaguars. Especially if Hopkins really did want to play in Jacksonville.

Getting a receiver like this to join your group as their preferred choice is an opportunity that doesn’t come around very often. If these reports are all true and the price is right, the Jaguars have to consider it. He can do things, even right now, that most receivers in the league can only dream of.

What would Hopkins be bringing to the Jaguars’ offense? Well for one, as mentioned before, he makes Trevor Lawrence right away. You can’t overstate the importance of a receiver like that who can make big plays and be considered “an out” for the quarterback.

He would also help out the other weapons on offense by creating more room for them. Defenses are always going to be extra aware of where he is which makes every other receiver and back on the team more dangerous. That is why you make this trade if you can.

For right now, the Jaguars are getting ready for this playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers. We might see them pull off the upset but nobody thinks they are ready for the Super Bowl yet (hopefully, we’re wrong). Continuing to improve could help them get there.
