2. The Jaguars must avoid shooting themselves in the foot in Week 18

The Jaguars’ offense has been highly productive in the second half of the season. But it hasn’t been flawless. One area Press Taylor’s unit could clean up is fumbling the football. Trevor Lawrence has fumbled over the last three weeks. Although one only lost two, he needs to do a better job of holding onto the football.

Similarly, running back Travis Etienne has lost two fumbles in the last two games. Neither player has had fumbling issues throughout their respective careers but Taylor and Doug Pederson must continue to emphasize the importance of protecting the football.

Fumbles aren’t the only thing the Jags need to eliminate against the Titans though. Against the Houston Texans in Week 17, both Lawrence and C.J. Beathard threw interceptions against the Texans. While it’s true that it was a meaningful game and neither pick ended up affecting the game, Lawrence must bring his A-game to his finale.

Last but not least, the offensive line needs to do its job too. Both defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons and defensive end Denico Autry will suit up and keeping them in check will go a long way toward giving Lawrence enough time to throw the football. Similarly, they need open big lanes for Etienne. If they can control the line of scrimmage, the Jags should have no trouble putting points on the scoreboard.

The Jaguars look like the better team on paper, which is why the last thing they want is to let self-inflicted wounds have an impact on the outcome of the game.
