No. 4 Jaguars player who must shine in Week 13: Jawaan Taylor, RT

Right tackle Jawaan Taylor was playing at a fairly high level early in the season and he’s still performing well but he’s had a couple of rough outings. in Week 13, he will often have to go against rookie defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Hutchison recently told the media that he thought the Jaguars were going to draft him, so he could use it as fuel to get him going. Regardless of how snubbed Hutchinson feels, Taylor will need to keep him in check to give Trevor Lawrence enough time to throw the football.

No. 3 Jaguars player who must shine in Week 13: Tyson Campbell, CB

Second-year cornerback Tyson Campbell is one of the Jaguars’ building blocks on defense. The former Georgia Bulldog showed flashes as a rookie and has continued to improve in Year 2. This season, he’s allowed a respectable 60 percent completion rate and registered two interceptions, not bad for someone who’s often tasked with shadowing their opponents’ best receiver.

In Week 13, Campbell could cover Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for most of the game but he could also get a few snaps against a familiar face in DJ Chark Jr. and rookie Jameson Williams, who is set to make his debut. Either way, the sophomore corner must help the Jags slow down the Detroit high-octane offense.

Another way Campbell could help is with an interception. He hasn’t had a pick since Week 8 against the Broncos and getting one against the Lions would increase the Jaguars’ chances of winning.
