No. 4 Jaguars player who must shine vs. the Eagles: Evan Engram, TE

The Jaguars got minimal production from the tight end position for a long stretch but signing Evan Engram in free agency has brought stability to the position. While the former Ole Miss Rebel hasn’t gotten a workload as big as fellow newcomer Christian Kirk’s over the last three weeks, he’s still an important part of the team’s offensive puzzles.

For the season, Engram has hauled in 12 passes for 83 yards. Although he hasn’t reached the end zone, he came close against the Chargers in Week 3. Near the end of the second quarter, he caught an 11-yard pass that was originally ruled a touchdown. Unfortunately, it was eventually reversed.

Engram had a chance to redeem himself though and later caught a two-point conversion that gave the Jags a 31-10 lead in the third quarter. Furthermore, he’s managed his drop issues and hasn’t had a single one in 2022.

There’s also the fact that the 2017 first-round pick is an asset in pass-blocking sets, posting an 80.7 Pro Football Focus grade in that department. With Kirk and Zay Jones drawing coverage against the Eagles, Engram could end up having favorable matchups, which could then lead to his first 100-yard game in Jaguars uniform.

All things considered, Engram could end up having a breakout season in Jacksonville and if he can reach the end zone in the upcoming weeks, he could have a legitimate shot at earning the second Pro Bowl berth of his career.
