Jaguars will force 3 turnovers vs. Colts and other Week 2 bold predictions
2. The Jaguars will sack Matt Ryan five times in Week 2
Qualifying for the playoffs is great but if you don’t make it, the second-best thing is not letting a division rival in, which is precisely what the Jaguars did last year against the Colts in Week 18. Many players, including Trevor Lawrence, had their best performance of the season, and the defense showed out, sacking Carson Wentz six times and forcing two turnovers.
The Jags’ front seven will once again shine. They will pressure Ryan early and often and will sack him five times. The team’s brass has spent the last two years fortifying all position groups on defense, and their investment will pay off in Week 2.
1. Jaguars RBs Travis Etienne and James Robinson will combine for 200 yards
Despite the fact that the Jaguars’ offensive line struggled in pass protection last week, they were the best in the league when it came to opening holes in the running game. They will again find success creating lanes large enough for a truck to drive through and will help Travis Etienne and James Robinson combine for 200 yards on the ground.
Against the Commanders, Robinson and Etienne averaged 6.0 yards and 11.8, respectively. Sure, Etienne had a big run but he was nonetheless efficient every time he got the ball. The Jags’ lethal duo will keep rolling against the Colts.
