2. The Jaguars have depth at several positions, including corner and linebacker

It’s never good news to hear a football player suffered an injury. Sure, it’s an inherent part of the sport but that doesn’t make it any less unpleasant when you take into account the amount of time and resources players invest into being ready for Game Day.

Having said that, the Jaguars are dealing with a series of injuries and head coach Doug Pederson shared an update on the first day of training camp. James Robinson’s rehab is going well while Jamal Agnew is day to day after suffering a season-ending injury in 2021. Devin Lloyd is dealing with a hamstring injury and Darious Williams is doing individual work after being out for most of the offseason due to a shoulder injury.

The good thing is Jacksonville has enough depth to withstand a few injuries at several position groups, including but not limited to running back, cornerback, wide receiver, and middle linebacker. Travis Etienne can hold the fort while Robinson recovers. John Shipley reported Darious Williams, Tre Herndon, and Xavier Crawford all got reps in the slot while Chad Muma and Shaquille Quarterman lined up at linebacker.

Optimally, you would want the Jags to have a clean bill of health right now but if any or a few of their starters have to miss time during the regular season, they will have enough depth to withstand a few injuries.

Although it’s only training camp, the Jags’ front office should get a bit of praise for putting together a well-rounded roster ahead of the regular season.
