3. The Jaguars O-Line allows 25 to 30 sacks in the 2022 NFL season

There are many reasons the Jaguars manage to win just three games but their offensive line wasn’t one of them. Sure, the unit wasn’t great and lacked top-notch talent. Nevertheless, they gave up a manageable 32 sacks. While that’s not a number to brag about, it was good for ninth-best in 2021. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had the lowest figure at 23 and the Buffalo Bills had the second-best at 27.

If the Jags were to allow between 25 and 30 sacks this upcoming season, they would have a top 5 offensive line, at least in that metric, and looking at the changes they made in the offseason, it may be feasible. First, they gave offensive line coach George Warhop the boot and hired Phil Rauscher to take his place. Rauscher should be able to get the most out of his unit and get right tackle Jawaan Taylor on the right path. And if Taylor struggles, Walker Little will be waiting for a crack at a starting job.

On the other side of the line, the Jaguars kept Cam Robinson, giving him a three-year deal worth $54 million. They also moved on from right guard A.J. Cann and inked Brandon Scherf to fill the void. At left guard, the team’s brass believes Ben Bartch is ready to start. Last but not least, the Jags used a third-round selection in this year’s draft on Luke Fortner, who is expected to eventually replace incumbent Tyler Shatley at center.

All things considered, the Jaguars’ O-line should allow less than 32 sacks in 2022. And 25 would be outstanding.
