No. 3 toughest QB the Jaguars will face in 2022 – Dak Prescott, Cowboys

Quarterback has a bigger impact on the outcome of a football game than any other positions and the Dallas Cowboys have a pretty good one in Dak Prescott. Looking back, it seemed as if the former Mississippi State standout was destined to land in Big D because owner Jerry Jones wanted to draft Paxton Lynch in the first round of the 2016 draft and Connor Cook later in the fourth round. The former ended up going to the Denver Broncos and the latter was chosen by the Raiders.

In the end, things worked out pretty well for the Cowboys, as Prescott is one of the best signal-callers in the league while Lynch and Cook already flamed out. Back in 2020, he suffered a compounded feature that forced him to miss a good chunk of the season. His absence was felt as Dallas went on to finish 6-10 that year. For comparison, they compiled a 12-5 record in 2021 with a healthy Prescott at the helm.

Even though the Cowboys traded wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns this offseason, the Prescott will still have plenty of weapons at his disposal in 2022. Dallas applied the franchise tag on tight end Dalton Schultz and brought back Michael Gallop on a five-year deal worth $62.5 million.

Furthermore, CeeDee Lamb is now the number one receiver with Cooper no longer in the picture. It will be interesting to see how the Jaguars’ cornerback room will stack up against Prescott and Dallas’ passing attack.
