No. 3 former player the Jaguars could sign in 2022 – Allen Robinson, WR.

Wide receiver Allen Robinson wasn’t traded nor released but the Jaguars didn’t make much of an effort to re-sign in 2018 even though he hauled in 201 receptions for 2,831 yards and 22 touchdowns during his first three NFL seasons. The former Nittany Lion was coming off an ACL injury in 2017’s season opener, so it kind of made sense to let him walk away in free agency.

Nevertheless, Robinson went on to sign a three-year deal with the Chicago Bears in 2018 and showed he was still the playmaker he was with the Jaguars. From 2018 to 2020 he caught 255 passes for 3,151 yards and 17 touchdowns. On the other hand, the wide receiver had a down season in 2021, posting 38 receptions for 410 yards and one touchdown. Injuries and COVID-19 played a role in his dip in production but should have no trouble bouncing back in 2022.

Jacksonville has been mentioned as a potential landing spot for Robinson this offseason. While he could have reservations about playing for the Jaguars once again, the prospect of catching passes from Trevor Lawrence could spike his interest. He’s never played with a quarterback as talented as Lawrence and that could make it difficult to pass on the chance to join the Jags once again.
