Jacksonville Jaguars 5-round mock draft: New Year’s Edition
Jaguars mock draft, fourth round, 106th overall, Storm Duck, CB.
The Jaguars have a pair of starting cornerbacks in Shaquill Griffin and Tyson Campbell. However, they need to add depth at the position in 2022 and Storm Duck of North Carolina makes sense in the fourth round. He’s currently ranked 82nd on Pro Football Focus Top 100 Big Board.
Duck missed ten games in 2020 due to injury and missed a few games earlier this year. That might have hindered his development but he’s got the prototypical size (6’0″ and 205 pounds) to play corner at the NFL. If he manages to stay healthy, he could be a solid addition to the Jaguars secondary.
Jaguars mock draft, fifth round, 145th overall, Quay Walker, LB.
The Jaguars also need to add depth to their linebacker corps. Myles Jack and Damien Wilson are currently the starters but the latter is set to become a free agent next offseason. Whether he comes back or not, the front office could use their fifth-round pick next year on Georgia’s Quay Walker.
Walker might not start right out of the gate in the NFL but that’s not what you expect from a fifth-round pick, right? He could sit behind Jack in 2022 while he learns the nuances of the position. He has can rush the quarterback and is adequate in coverage.
