No. 4 Falcon the Jaguars must keep in check – Cordarelle Patterson, WR

The Falcons’ offense has sorely missed wide receiver Cordarelle Patterson. The 2013 first-round pick got hurt against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10 and missed last week’s game. He was a  limited participant in Wednesday’s practice and it’s uncertain if he will suit up Sunday. Not having him would be a significant hit for Atlanta, as the Jags would be able to center their attention on slowing down Kyle Pitts.

Patterson isn’t a bonafide number one wide receiver but he’s carved a nice niche in the Falcons’ offense. This season, he’s caught 39 receptions for 473 yards and a career-high five touchdowns. He is also 13 catches away from setting a career-high.

No. 5 Falcon the Jaguars must keep in check – Matt Ryan, QB

Matt Ryan may not be a top 5 quarterback but the Jags can’t afford to take him lightly. He was the league MVP back in 2016 and has been the Falcons starting quarterback since 2008. Other NFL teams would love to have that kind of stability at the position. In fact, you could argue the Mattural would have better numbers if the Falcons gave him a bit of help, as he’s had to carry the team in recent years.

Ryan has had to play without his top two receivers from 2020 but he’s kept the Falcons afloat this season and has completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 2,427 yards with 15 touchdowns and ten interceptions.
