One of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ few bright spots in 2020 was their wide receiver corps, led by DJ Chark Jr. and then-rookie Laviska Shenault Jr. One year later, the unit looks even stronger after all the additions the team has made this offseason.

Last year, the Jaguars’ inconsistency at quarterback hindered their wide receivers but Trevor Lawrence, the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, will fully take advantage of the team’s skill-position players and Chark and Shenault will have even more productive year. Also, Jacksonville signed Marvin Jones Jr. in free agency, so the group should once again be a strength even though the team moved on from Keelan Cole this offseason.

Here’s a ranking of the Jaguars’ wide receiver corps following this year’s selection meeting.

Who are the Jacksonville Jaguars’ top wide receivers?

1. DJ Chark – The former second-round pick earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2019. Last season, he still played at a high level but the Jags didn’t have a quarterback that could constantly take advantage of his playmaking prowess. Lawrence will change that and Chark should post the second 1,000-yard season of his young career.

2. Marvin Jones – The former Detroit Lions wide receiver was not long ago named the Jaguars’ best offseason acquisition and rightfully so. Although he’s only had one 1,000-yard season in his career, he’s been consistent and has scored 32 touchdowns over the last four years. He will be a reliable target in the Jaguars’ offense and should also end the year with more than 1,000 receiving yards.

Who’s next in this Jacksonville Jaguars wide-receiver ranking?

3. Laviska Shenault – The Colorado product showed promise in 2020 but injuries and the Jaguars’ less-than-stellar quarterback situation limited him to 58 receptions for 600 yards and five touchdowns. While he won’t reach the 1,000-yard mark due to the presence of Chark and Jones, he will get close to it and touchdown totals will also go up.

4. Collin Johnson – Although the Texas product didn’t play much as a rookie, he performed at a high level when he did, hauling in 18 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns last season. He will compete for playing time this offseason and should have a bigger role on offense in 2021.

5. Phillip Dorsett – Being a former first-round pick will buy you extra chances in the NFL, something Phillip Dorsett has fully taken advantage of since the Indianapolis Colts drafted him 29th overall in 2015. The Miami product has started more than four games in a season just once in his career and has never topped 600 receiving yards. At this stage of his career, Dorsett is a depth player.

6. Jalen Camp – The Georgia Tech product was the Jaguars’ sixth-round selection in this year’s draft. Although he’s raw, he has the physical prowess and athleticism to play in the pros. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him move up ahead of Dorsett on the depth chart.

7. Jamal Agnew – The 2017 fifth-round pick earned a First-Team All-Pro designation in his rookie campaign… as a return specialist. He doesn’t bring much to the table as a wide receiver but should improve the Jaguars’ return game this upcoming season.

8. Terry Godwin – The Georgia product was a seventh-round pick last year and hauled in three catches for 32 yards. With Camp on the roster, Terry Godwin will have to compete in training camp to make the team this season.

9. Tim Jones – The Mississippi native signed with the Jaguars after not getting his name called in this year’s draft. Tim Jones hauled in 150 receptions for 2,011 yards and nine touchdowns over his four-year collegiate career. He will have a hard time making the roster.

10. Josh Imatorbhebhe – Jacksonville signed the former Fighting Illini after this year’s draft ended. Although he’s talented, he dealt with injuries through his collegiate career. If Josh Imatorbhebhe can manage to stay healthy, he could join the practice squad.

11. Jon’Vea Johnson – An undrafted free agent in 2020, Jon’Vea Johnson signed with the Dallas Cowboys after the selection meeting but was waived in 2021 and then claimed off waivers by the Jags. He’s another long shot to make the team.

12. Josh Hammond – Another undrafted free agent in 2020, Josh Hammond hasn’t played a snap in his short NFL career and may not do it anytime soon.
