The Jacksonville Jaguars need to find a good backup running back.

Latavius Murray has carved a niche as the Saints number-two running back behind superstar Alvin Kamara. Although he showed he could carry the load at the position as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, he may be better suited for a complementary role.

A sixth-round selection by the Raiders in 2013, Murray missed his rookie campaign with a foot injury but became their starting running back in 2014. He then signed a three-year $15 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings in 2017 but the last year of the contract was voided and joined the Saints in 2019.

Over his eight-year career, Murray has appeared in 108 games and has racked up 1,1191 yards for 4,991 yards and 43 touchdowns. In his two-year stint in New Orleans, he’s averaged 4.4 yards per carry and has tallied 292 carries for 1293 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Jaguars already have a starting running back in sophomore James Robinson but need to find him a backup this offseason if they want to avoid overworking him. James Conner could be one of the best options available in free agency, but Murray could be an affordable option if he hits the open market.
