The Jacksonville Jaguars need to revamp their defense.

Nobody is sure what the Jaguars are going to do with the cornerback position in 2020. Sidney Jones and D.J. Hayden are set to become free agents after the 2020 season and it’s uncertain whether they’re going to bring them back, as they both have been dealing with injuries and missed significant time this year.

Asante Samuel Jr. should be available in the second round, and this Jacksonville team should take him in order to replenish their cornerback room. The Florida State cornerback registered 97 total tackles, 29 pass deflections, and four interceptions in 24 starts, and could start opposite C.J. Henderson in 2021.

Rookies Doug Costin and DaVon Hamilton have displayed flashes of talent and should be part of the Jaguars’ defensive tackle rotation the following season. However, they need to add more talent and depth to the group. Jacksonville has an additional selection in the second round, the one they got when they traded defensive end Yannick Ngakoue earlier this year.

They could use it on Jared Goldwire of Louisiana. The Cardinals defensive tackle has played well in 2020 and displayed flashes of pass-rush prowess.
