The Jacksonville Jaguars must contain these two Titans on offense.
Derrick Henry is on pace to be the NFL’s top leading rusher again after finishing the 2019 season with 1,540 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. This season, he’s carried the ball 271 times for 1,317 yards and has four more games to keep boosting his numbers.
In his five-year tenure with the Titans, Henry has scored 50 touchdowns and is one of those rare running backs that haven’t seen their production dip after signing their second contract. In Week 2, the Jaguars contained him to 84 yards and no touchdowns on 25 carries. It won’t be easy to slow him down one more time.
Ryan Tannehill had the most efficient year of his career in 2019. He went 201-of 286 for 2,742, 22 touchdowns, six interceptions, and had a career-high 70.3 completion rate. Heading into the 2020 season, it wasn’t clear whether 2019 had been an outlier, but the veteran quarterback has played even better.
In 12 games, Tannehill is 246-of-379 for 2,997 yards, 26 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Although injuries and bad coaching slowed him down early in his NFL career, he’s been able to bounce back nicely with the Titans.
