The Jacksonville Jaguars should pass up Brian Xanders.

Brian Xanders has been the Los Angeles Rams Senior Personal executive since 2017. Coincidentally, the team has been a playoff contender since that year and reached the Super Bowl in 2018. Moreover, the team has won 40 games and lost 19 in that span.

Before joining the Rams, Xanders had the same job with the Detroit Lions from 2013 to 2016. However, he’s most likely remembered for his tenure as the Denver Broncos general manager from 2009 to 2011.

It’s uncertain how much control of the roster decisions Xanders had at the time as then-head coach Josh McDaniels was heavily involved in the process of acquiring players. The Broncos did draft some good players such as edge defender Von Miller, tight end Julius Thomas, and wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, but weren’t able to get the most out of them and it wasn’t until both McDaniels and Xanders were given the boot.

Xanders has been solid in a complementary role but he couldn’t thrive in a bigger role with the Broncos. Although he could have improved his skills as a general manager, the ‘Jags’ should err on the right side of caution and keep looking.
