4. player. 52. . . . Jake Luton, quarterback

Jake Luton could soon have an impact for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This one is an interesting one. Backup quarterbacks are always one injury away from taking the field and this is no different for rookie Jake Luton. The Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback, Gardner Minshew is out with a thumb injury and we don’t know when he will be back in the lineup.

If head coach Doug Marrone wants to go with the safest choice, he will pick veteran Mike Glennon to start against the Houston Texans in Week 9. However, if Marrone wants to try something different, he should definitely roll with the Oregon State standout, who had a good training camp according to the team’s brass.

3. player. 52. . . . Collin Johnson, wide receiver

Collin Johnson got caught in a numbers game. Wide receiver is one of the most stacked positions on the Jaguars roster this year and the Texas product hasn’t given many opportunities. While he has played in all the ‘Jags’ games this season, he has hauled in just six receptions for 60 yards and one touchdown.

In his last season with the Longhorns, Johnson played in seven games and caught 38 passes for 559 yards and three touchdowns. The year before, he took the field in 13 games and had 68 catches for 985 yards and seven touchdowns, so he’s shown he can play. Nevertheless, he may only get more playing time if the Jaguars suffer injuries at the position.
