TRE HERNDON – CORNERBACK

The Jaguars drafted CJ Henderson with their first pick of the draft. While Tre Herndon isn’t the superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey was, he is a solid cornerback. This is something that will probably plague any of the Jaguars corners until their secondary finds similar success as the AFC Championship team.

Given the circumstances, Herndon was vert successful last season. He even finished with more interceptions than Ramsey did.

I believe that Herndon can put up similar numbers to those he posted last season. However, I think he will have more consistency than he had last year. Herndon is a player who many people disrespect just because he isn’t a star player. There is a lot to prove this year, but he is very underrated and he has the ability to grow into a successful corner in this league.

There are areas where Herndon can improve. He sometimes plays too aggressive and gets burnt deep. Herndon also needs to improve his zone coverage ability. However, with his skillset he can grow into a very solid starting cornerback.
