Julius Thomas will have a touchdown: FACT
The Jacksonville Jaguars were hoping they found the centerpiece of their offense when they signed Julius Thomas as their prized free agent last offseason, but the super athletic pass catcher never really got into a groove in 2015. His preseason was hampered by a hand injury and he seemed out of shape and aloof at times during the regular season.
Things appear to be different this year as Thomas looks slimmer and more comfortable in Greg Olsen’s offense. Even with the emergence of Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, Thomas is still one of the best athletes and players on the offensive side of the ball. He could emerge as the team’s number two option and that path will begin on Sunday as he puts together a nice looking stat line against the Packers. If there’s any part of Green Bay’s defense to exploit, it’s the middle of the field. Josh McPeak over at Lombardi Ave mentioned during our Q&A this week that the Packers are trotting out some inexperienced and underwhelming guys at inside linebacker. The Jaguars will set up some mismatches and get Julius the ball in the redzone.
