6th drive – Starting from the Jaguars’ own 20

Play 1: a beautiful RB screen for 26 yards to Gerhart.

Play 2 & 3 Quick slants to Shorts. We will see these a few times I hope in the future.

Play 4: Nice play action fake – Scrambles for 10.

Play 5. Low pass but Allen Robinson is able to catch it anyway.

Play 6: Bortles pulls a Dan Marino and find Shorts in the end zone for a TD.

Conclusion of the 6th drive: marches down the field well, it is a shame that he did it in garbage time. I really hope he can pull drives like this when it really counts a few hundred times.

Overall impressions: Had some bad throws and good throws. He needs to learn the following things: -Going through his progression better and faster -Precision and accuracy are problems when he can’t step into the throw But he does a great job in: -Avoiding pressure -Saving broken plays -Vertical passing And the best conclusion I have for his first 30 minutes: Bortles does not lose confidence from a few bad decisions and throws!
