The Jaguars defense continued to play well, even after the first team came off the field, and part of the reason was the play of 5th round pick Chris Smith. In addition to his sack, Smith had a QB hurry and was in the backfield consistently through the second half. He was terrific at anticipating the snap count and his first step is something to keep an eye on moving forward. He looked much better than veteran Andre Branch, and he could work his way in the rotation behind Chris Clemons if he continues to produce.
