What a difference a week makes. Leading up to the first preseason game, the Jaguars were faced with a logjam at the wide receiver position, filled with an unsigned rookie, a couple of locks and a load of unproven talent waiting to prove their worth. Fast forward to today.

As reported by Tania Ganguli of the Florida Time-Union, Keenan McCardell has interviewed with the Jaguars for the open position of Wide Receiver Coach. Mike Mularkey plans on having his entire staff filled by the January 28th Senior Bowl, an important annual scouting event, so a hiring may be imminent. Keenan was the WR coach for the Washington Redskins last year, but was told he would not be brought back. (more…)

This past year was quite possibly the most pathetic showing of wide receivers in Jaguars history, OK, not possibly, it was. That’s including the years with Matt Jones and Reggie Williams. The wide receivers this year tanked and didn’t show any signs of improvement until the end of the year, which, interestingly enough, coincided with the bye week and the coaching change. The questions that remains are these…

“Who will the Jaguars acquire in Free Agency? Who will the Jaguars draft? Which wide receivers with the Jaguars keep?”
