The Jaguars front office is currently negotiating with former Colts LB Clint Session, according to Times-Union reporter Tania Ganguli. As she worded it, a deal sounds imminent. The Colts are known for letting their veteran LB’s walk in free agency and have not made any comments suggesting they’ll be bringing back Session. With Justin Durant already signed in Detroit and Paul Posluszny brought in yesterday to become the Jaguars new MLB, it appears that Daryl Smith will be the only incumbent linebacker starting in Jacksonville next year. This would mean the official goodbye of one-year starter Kirk Morrison, as well.

Previously on the free agency discussion… We discussed the Jaguars positions of need and the players that could potentially fill those needs. The CBA has (hopefully) been pushed through with a NFLPA* vote expected on Monday, with the last minute squabble being mostly over the new Supplemental Revenue Sharing clause. I’ll be doing an article on Supplemental Revenue Sharing hopefully in the future (its what all Jaguars fans should hope for, intra-league revenue sharing).  The new CBA (if it happens) brings good news for the Jaguars.

Editor’s Note: Just wanted to commend Jason Love for getting the inside scoop on Marc Schiechl – his article was tweeted and quickly scooped up by other outlets.

Black and Teal has learned, thanks to astute observations by Jonathan Wallace, that Marc Schiechl has updated his Facebook status to read  “Jacksonville Jaguars”. The comments section following his update suggests that Schiechl has been and is currently in contact with the Jaguars front office and may have already agreed in principle to a contract. Hopefully this is true, as Schiechl is a great DII prospect. Click on the jump to check out a preview on Schiechl.
