The Jacksonville Jaguars have spent an offseason crafting what on paper looks likes an improved team. However with the season drawing closer here are some units on the team that can improve.

Offensive Line

The Jacksonville Jaguars offensive line will determine how the offense roles this season. A lack of consistency in recent years highlights how the line can be taken advantage of at times, and as a result the quarterback. Figuring out the right combination will help not only Blake Bortles to stay upright, but also help in the run game and give Leonard Fournette the chance to run. The offensive line is no doubt one key to success this season and veteran players are still available. As fellow Black and Teal writer Larry Brake noted Nick Mangold is still available in free agency. His experience and leadership would not only be an asset in the locker room but also a way to solidify the center position. The Jags need to figure out the offensive line before the season if Bortles has any hopes for success.

Special Teams

Again like the offensive line the Jags special teams were rather lackluster in 2016. With the introduction of Joe DeCamillis as the special teams coach the trend should point upward this season. Yet, there are still a few things to figure out.

More from Jacksonville Jaguars News

Can the Jaguars expect consistency from kicker Jason Myers in year three? Jaguars Head coach Doug Marrone has shown faith in Myers. A reliable kicker would help add a dimension the special teams has missed. A resurgence from the special teams will help the Jaguars overall chance of winning games. With a new coach in place

The Jaguars will also have a decision to make at kick returner. Marqise Lee came on late last season and replaced Rashad Greene. Will Dede Westbrook do the same this season? Lee and Westbrook speed and skill will add another dimension to the return game opposing teams will need to adjust for.

Last season the Jags ranked 25th in special teams. Upgrades from coaching to players will help make the most of the improvements this offseason will help the unit continue to improve as the season draws closer.

Overall the Jaguars still have work left this offseason. Figuring out the best offensive line and adjusting special teams will help the Jags to prepare for this season.
