The Jacksonville Jaguars were fortunate to land Myles Jack in the 2nd round, as the UCLA stud is motivated to prove his doubters wrong.

More from Jaguars Draft

When the Jacksonville Jaguars took Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey with the 5th pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, that signaled the end of any hopes UCLA linebacker Myles Jack would become a Jaguar. After all, he was heralded as one of the 2 or 3 best prospects in the entire draft, so some team in the first round was going to swallow the questions about his knee and take him.

That’s what we all thought.

Then Jack kept falling. Into the teens. Into the 20s. Then the Seattle Seahawks made the final pick of the first round and Jack’s name was never called. The worst fear of every draft prospect who sits in the green room during the first round came true for Jack.

Jack talked about those moments in green room, waiting to hear his name called as a first round pick on Thursday night – something that never happened.

"“It was, honestly, humiliating. It was embarrassing having to sit there, and afterwards walking out, having my girl to my left, my mom to my right, my grandmother to the right of her and having to look at them, it was a tough feeling… It wasn’t a good night, truthfully.”– Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack"

Plenty of great players go through this same moment. One of the most prominent and productive players in Jaguars history, Maurice Jones-Drew, never shook off the chip on his shoulder of being a late 2nd round pick. Luckily, it looks like Jack plans on using that embarrassment to fuel him heading into his rookie season.

"“I can’t wait to contribute, I can’t wait to play this game and just prove people wrong,”– Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack"

We can’t wait to watch you play either.
